Lois has been an instructor in the Bar Admission course (now CPLED). She has spoken at a number of Legal Education Society seminars on the Wills and Succession Act , and written a number of papers on estate topics.
Lois MacLean was admitted to the Bar in 1981. She was in private practice until 1994, which included criminal defence, family law and civil litigation. She then joined the staff of the Law Society of Alberta as a Complaints Officer where she was part of the team that developed the Law Society’s complaint resolution process. Lois joined de Villars Jones in 1998, where her practice focuses primarily on wills and estates, mediation, and professional discipline.
Lois is an active community volunteer: she has served on the Board of Directors of the Canterbury Foundation, is active in her parish, and is the Vice-Chancellor of the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton.
