For as long as she can remember, Paula wanted to be a lawyer. And it was a natural fit. Having always been a problem solver, she viewed becoming a lawyer as her way to help people solve their problems, no matter how complicated or difficult they may seem at first.
To pursue her passion to be a lawyer, Paula left her small Saskatchewan farming village of 500 people to complete her undergraduate studies in Ottawa. She then moved to Edmonton for law school and to be closer to family.
Paula was called to the Bar in 1999 and joined de Villars Jones in 2011. Her experience in corporate and commercial matters is an asset to the firm, and reinforces her work in drafting wills, enduring powers of attorney and personal directives. Paula is also experienced in cemetery and grave plot issues.
Paula has given talks during Wills Week, delivered a seminar for the Edmonton Community Foundation as well as other talks on wills and estate planning for financial planning businesses.
Paula is proud to be a lawyer during the week and a dedicated hockey mom on weekends. Paula also enjoys playing the piano, volunteering in the children’s ministry at her church, and taking pictures of her family and favourite past-times: sledding in the winter and gardening in the summer.
